About Fern Grove Cottages
The Fern Grove Cottages were built in the 1920's for vacationing families visiting The Russian River from nearby San Francisco. Our tradition continues, familes with children are always welcome; children enjoy Guerneville's amusement park with its assortment of rides, open during the summer months. We also welcome well-behaved pets.

The Cottages are nestled among towering 200ft Redwood trees. Most of the Cottages have classic wood-burning fireplaces. The original, knotty pine panelling gives the Cottages a warm, rustic glow.
Each Fern Grove Cottage is unique; some have TV's, while others are equipped with kitchenettes. Several cottages have private jacuzzi-tubs. The two bedroom units are perfectly suitable for families.
A continental breakfast is served each morning. Our menu varies seasonally, to ensure our guests the freshest and most satisfying start to their day. You will enjoy a variety of treats like homemade scones, muffins, and fresh granolas. Fern Grove is located just three blocks from the village of Guerneville with its quaint shops and delightful restaurants. You may also enjoy an easy walk to the nearby swimming beach on the Russian River, and of course, our Guests are invited to enjoy Fern Grove's own swimming pool.
There is much to do and see in Guerneville. Even after several trips to Fern Grove, you will still find new adventures. Within 3 miles of the Cottages are canoe trips down the Russian River, hiking in the impressive, Armstrong Redwoods State Park, and local champagne winery tours.

Summer temperatures for the Russian River are typically in the 80's and 90's with cooling during the night. Winter temperatures are typically in the 60's during the daytime. The weather changes rapidly, so be prepared -bring an umbrella or sweater; dress in layers.to top
Driving Directions to Fern Grove Cottages
The Russian River - Guerneville
Driving from San Francisco or San Jose airport, take Interstate 280 north to San Francisco then Highway 101 across the Golden Gate Bridge to Santa Rosa. Just north of Santa Rosa take the River Road exit and proceed west to Guerneville.
From the north take Highway 101 south toward Santa Rosa. Just past the town of Windsor take the River Road exit and go west to Guerneville.
A scenic route from either the north or south isour coast Highway 1. Recommended only for the adventurous and vehicles in good condition. Consideration must also be made for additional travel time. Northern California's Highway 1 intersects with Highway 101 at Leggett 96 miles south of Eureka, and it intersects with Highway 101 at Mill Valley north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Wonderful coast line, beaches, and unique towns are along this route. South of Jenner you would take Highway 116 east to Guerneville.
From the east (Sacramento) take Interstate 80 to Vallejo, then take Highway 37 followed by Lakeville Road to Highway 101 and continue north to Santa Rosa.
Nearest Airports are the San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose airports. Shuttle busses are available from the airports to San Francisco and public transportation is available from San Francisco to Santa Rosa then Santa Rosa to Guerneville. Rental cars may be obtained at the airports.
Driving from the Oakland airport take Interstate 880 north through Oakland then Interstate 580 north through Richmond to Highway 101 and continue north to Santa Rosa. If desired you could take Interstate 880 to Oakland and Interstate 80 into San Francisco then cross the Golden Gate Bridge.
In Guerneville, we are located at 16650 Highway 116, about a block west of Safeway on the Main Street of town. It's easy to spot our sign and entrance from any direction. And free parking is within the resort property.
